The current coronavirus pandemic is not the last, humanity needs to prepare for new challenges, Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor, told reporters.
“It is the first in this millennium, in this century, but it is not the final one,” said the head of the department.
According to Popova, today the threat against the background of the pandemic is an overabundance of information about it, when the population is misled with fakes, thus trying to control the epidemic process. Infodemia, the head of Rospotrebnadzor emphasized, destroys trends towards health restoration in many countries of the world.
As the website kp.ru wrote, in Russia over the past day, 20,182 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected. The total number of COVID-19 cases during the entire pandemic in the country has increased to 5,388,695 people. 131 463 cases became victims of the virus, and 4 915 615 people recovered.
