Deputy Director for Research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gorelov reported on the stabilization of the epidemiological situation in Russia.
– Now we are in the phase of stabilization of the epidemiological process with a downward trend. This was influenced by a whole range of factors, one of the most important is vaccination, which has been quite active in recent weeks and, of course, has borne fruit, ”the specialist said in a conversation with reporters.
According to him, “it is too early to relax”, since the daily increase in cases of 19 thousand people is a serious figure. Gorelov urged to comply with coronavirus measures and get vaccinated.
Recall that over the past day, 19,454 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia. This was announced by the Operational Headquarters for Combating COVID-19. The largest number of new cases was recorded in Moscow, where 1,458 people were infected with the coronavirus. The Moscow region is in second place in terms of diseases – there are 1187 new patients, in third place is St. Petersburg – 691 patients.
