The Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers (APPSIM) asks Roskomnadzor to check on the fact of leakage of information about Facebook users.
The personal data of 533 million users, including 10 million Russians, have become available on the Web. We are talking about surnames, first names, places of residence, nicknames, phone numbers, user IDs, information about work or study.
In this regard, the director of the association, Vladimir Zykov, sent an appeal to the supervisory authority. He noted that after the incident, the company did not notify users of the incident.
– People learned that the information was stolen from the media. No apologies have been received from the administration, – Zykov notes.
He explains that the attackers took advantage of the ability to find the user by phone number.
– We are sure that the facts are obvious, Facebook should be fined for leaking personal data of Russian citizens, – RT quotes the association's appeal.
According to Vladimir Zykov, the ultimate goal of the appeal is a fine or a lawsuit against a foreign social network.
Earlier, State Duma Deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy Maxim Kudryavtsev explained how the ban on the use of Zoom will affect the Russians. In an interview with the FAN, the parliamentarian noted that in Russia there are analogs of the program that will painlessly move to other platforms for communications.
