The American company Facebook faces a billion dollar fine for repeated failure to remove prohibited content. This was reported by “Vedomosti” with reference to the press service of Roskomnadzor.
It is noted that the department plans to draw up an appropriate protocol. Due to the fact that we are talking about a repeated violation of the law, the platform may be obliged to pay a fine equal to 1/20 to 1/10 of the company's annual turnover. The exact amount of the sanctions will be determined by the court.
Earlier it was reported that the Magistrates' Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow allowed Facebook to pay voluntarily 26 million rubles in fines until October 4.
