In 2021, Roskomnadzor received over 42 thousand complaints about problems related to personal data. On December 30, the press service of the department told about this in the Telegram channel.
In total, Roskomnadzor received 42,464 requests from Russians on the topic of personal data. Most often they were associated with the need to clarify the legislation, as well as complaints about illegal actions of personal data operators.
The press service of the regulator clarified that the Russians were mostly worried about the transfer of personal data by credit institutions without their consent. In addition, citizens applied to the department because of the processing of personal data by collection agencies, as well as because of illegal posting or processing of their personal data on the Internet.
Roskomnadzor was assured that they were checking everything. The department clarified that it is requesting the necessary information from data operators and sending its response. “At the same time, the share of repeated applications is less than one percent,” the press service emphasized.
Over the already identified violations related to the topic of personal data, this year more than 200 protocols were drawn up on bringing to administrative responsibility. Also, the press service of the regulator added that the department imposed fines in the amount of more than 40 million rubles.
Earlier it became known that in Russia since the beginning of the year the number of pseudo banks, which are disguised as real credit institutions, has grown 125 times. The growth is associated with the coronavirus pandemic, as well as with the remote use of banking services. Roskomnadzor said that over 11 months of 2021, at the request of the service, 2.5 thousand such resources were blocked.
