Roskomnadzor has imposed restrictions on the use of VyprVPN and Opera VPN bypass services.
As specified on the website of the supervisory agency, such measures have been taken “in accordance with the regulations for responding to threats to circumvent restrictions on access to child pornography, suicidal, pro-narcotic and other prohibited content.” Exceptions will be made by Russian companies that need VPN services for continuous technological processes.
The so-called white lists include over 200 technological processes of 130 companies. It is not excluded that they can be supplemented after new requests.
As the website kp.ru wrote, earlier Roskomnadzor announced plans to block Twitter in Russia in a month if the social network does not fulfill the requirements of the supervisory authority and does not delete the prohibited information.
