The official also announced the launch of test personal accounts on the RKN portal in early November, so that representatives of companies subject to the law could express their comments and suggestions.
In addition, until December 31, RKN intends to conduct weekly general or one-to-one online consultations to answer companies' questions.
The law on “landing” Internet companies was signed by the President on July 1, 2021. It provides that by January 1, 2022, foreign information resources with a daily audience of more than 500 thousand Russian users must create a branch, representative office or authorized legal entity on the territory of the Russian Federation, register a personal account on the RKN website and place an electronic form for feedback with by Russian citizens or organizations. For those who refuse to comply with the requirements of the law, there are a number of sanctions – including a ban on advertising their own resources and placing advertisements aimed at Russian citizens, a ban on money transfers, full or partial blocking of violating resources.
