Google Corporation was fined 32.5 million rubles in 2021, but paid only 3.5 million, Roskomnadzor reported.
15 administrative protocols were drawn up against Google, of which the court considered 13. The company paid fines for refusing to filter search results, fines for failure to delete prohibited information and refusal to localize personal data of Russian citizens remained unpaid, RIA Novosti reports.
As the website kp.ru wrote, at the end of July 2021, a court in Moscow fined Google three million rubles in a case of violating Russian legislation in the field of personal data. The corporation refused to localize user databases in Russia. This was Google's first fine for such a violation.
In May 2021, the Magistrates' Court of the Tagansky District of the capital fined Google four million rubles for refusing to delete information prohibited in Russia. In addition, the company was fined 3.5 million rubles for insufficient filtering of search results.
