Roskomnadzor has restricted access to the online resource for DeviantArt artists due to a refusal to remove prohibited content. This was reported in the press service of the department, reports “Interfax”.
The press service noted that the administrators of the resource several times ignored the requirements of Roskomnadzor and, within the allotted time, did not restrict access to “dangerous, primarily for children, content.” We are talking about “materials containing child pornography, suicidal and narcotic content.”
Roskomnadzor noted that since 2019, they have sent 145 requests to DeviantArt.
Roskomnadzor sent one of the demands to DeviantArt on July 29th. The press service of the department mentioned pages with child pornography, suicidal, pro-narcotic, as well as Nazi and other content, which is recognized as prohibited. At the same time, according to Roskomnadzor, there were children among those who asked to remove this type of content.
DeviantArt, an online commercial gallery and community for artists, photographers, illustrators and writers, was launched in August 2000 in the United States and was acquired by the international cloud platform Wix in 2017. In August 2014, Roskomnadzor blocked 12 illustrations of etty (an anime or manga genre whose key feature is the display of erotic scenes) and two galleries that were hosted by authors and users of DeviantArt. The lock was later removed.
