Roskomnadzor demanded that the Facebook administration immediately remove restrictions on the reproduction of the Russian anthem on Instagram, according to the agency's website.
“The social network Instagram has imposed restrictions on user videos containing fragments of the national anthem of the Russian Federation. Roskomnadzor sent a demand to the management of Facebook Inc to remove all restrictions on materials containing the anthem of Russia, imposed by Instagram under the alleged pretext of copyright infringement,” the message says.
It was noted that blocking the national anthem is unacceptable, since it is not an object of copyright.
The department noted that the reproduction of the national anthem of the Russian Federation and the demonstration of state symbols in public space is an expression of respect for their country.
Roskomnadzor called on the administration of social networks to respect Russia, its anthem and symbols.
