Roskomnadzor demanded that Facebook remove all restrictions from the project page of the RT Redfish TV channel and explain the reasons for blocking the account, which has more than 800 thousand subscribers.

“Roskomnadzor demands to remove all imposed restrictions as soon as possible, inform the service about this, and also explain the reasons for blocking the account,” Roskomnadzor said in a statement.

They recalled that ignoring warnings about violation of the rights of Russians by the owners of Internet resources entails fines of up to 1 million rubles. Fines for repeated refusal to comply with the requirements can reach 3 million rubles.

Earlier, Facebook moderators removed the project page of the RT Redfish TV channel with more than 800 thousand subscribers for two posts with historical photographs.

The project published posts with historical photographs depicting the execution of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and the atrocities of the Nazis in concentration camps.

The publications were timed to coincide with memorable dates: the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Italy from the dictatorship of Mussolini and the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
