Emails without a subject and body of the letter are able to bypass the built-in spam filters of the Gmail mail service, Roskachestvo reported, citing statements by the recipients of such letters. According to them, such letters contain documents that redirect readers to a dummy login form for Google services. Sergey Bodrov, project manager of the Roskachestvo digital expertise center, said that Google is investigating the situation with such letters.
“Google has already announced that it is investigating phishing emails that look like documents and why they bypass spam filters. The company recommends that all users not follow the links and report fraud in Gmail, as well as promptly change their passwords, ”said Mr. Bodrov.
According to Roskachestvo, attachments to spam emails are characterized by names that encourage them to open – for example, “last warning”, “tests for COVID-19”, “immediately …” or “start making money.”
Earlier, the British cybersecurity company Cyjax discovered that attackers were creating websites that simulate e-mail login for officials. According to her, such sites are directed against officials from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries.
