The launch of the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft, on which director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild will go to the International Space Station (ISS), is scheduled for 11:55 Moscow time on October 5. This was reported in the press service of “Roscosmos”, reports “RIA Novosti”.
“The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled at 11:55 Moscow time,” the agency said.
They also noted that Shipenko and Peresild will take part in the filming of the film with the tentative title “Challenge”. They will be able to return to Earth on October 17 together with cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky on the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft.
Earlier, in May, Roskosmos announced the completion of the selection of actresses and directors for the flight to the ISS, where the state corporation plans to shoot the first ever film in space.

- Klim Shipenko – 37 years old, graduated from the University of California, actor, stage director, playwright. Director of films “Salyut-7”, “Text”, “Kholop” and others.
The sources of funding for the filming of Roscosmos and the head of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin did not disclose. But Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, who is in charge of the defense industry, warned that they would not allocate budget money for this. Roscosmos will have to pay for the production of the film at the expense of private sponsors. “I can tell you for sure that while I am in this post, I will not miss the event for the financing of a feature film at the state expense. I will definitely not miss it, ”Borisov said in an interview with RBC.
