Juventus Turin has finally said goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo and agreed with Manchester United on a transfer for the Portuguese world star. As the Italian record champions announced on Tuesday, the English are paying 15 million euros for the 36-year-old. This sum can increase by a further eight million if certain conditions are met. Both clubs announced the agreement on the transfer last Friday.

Ronaldo signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year at Old Trafford. “Manchester United are a club that has always had a special place in my heart and I am blown away by all the news I have received since the announcement on Friday,” he said attacker. The star striker moved from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United in the summer of 2003 at the age of 18. He scored 118 goals for the club, won the Champions League with United in 2008 and became a world footballer for the first time. In 2009 Real Madrid then paid 94 million euros for their services. Ronaldo won the Champions League four times with Los Blancos before moving to Juventus in the summer of 2018. With the Northern Italians he won the championship twice and the cup once. However, Ronaldo recently declared that he no longer wanted to stay in Turin. His contract with Juventus would actually have been valid for another year.

After Ronaldo's departure, Juventus brought back a well-known player. The 21-year-old striker Moise Kean is initially on loan from Premier League club Everton until June 2023, returning to his training club. At the same time, Juve secured a purchase option for which 28 million euros will then be due. Kean played in the youth academy of the Italian record champions from 2011, at the age of 16 he made his debut in Serie A. He was last loaned by Everton to Paris Saint-Germain.
