Cristiano Ronaldo shot a steward in Bern. His apology, the Young Boys victory and his shirt made them forget the pain.
1: 2! Manchester United lost on Tuesday evening for the Champions League opener in Bern. New signing Cristiano Ronaldo put the guests in the lead. A red card from Aaron Wan-Bissaka brought the Young Boys back, scoring the winning goal in the 95th minute.
Not only was the match itself spectacular. Superstar Ronaldo caused a stir even before kick-off. A shot tore off the Portuguese while warming up. He hit a steward on the head.
The woman fell to the ground and was immediately surrounded and cared for by colleagues. Ronaldo also rushed over to inquire about her well-being.
The Portuguese apologized for the mistake. Fortunately, the woman was feeling much better a little later. After the end of the game, pictures made the rounds in which she beamed into the camera with the Ronaldo shirt.
The painful experience brought her at least a very special souvenir.
