The head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin invited the head of NASA Bill Nelson to Russia and wanted to see him “in his family.” He stated this, speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). His words are quoted by TASS.
“I look forward to Nelson coming during this year. Maybe we'll see one of the launches, ”he said. The head of Roscosmos expressed the hope that the strengthening of relations with Bill Nelson will help restore dialogue with the United States. “I raised several questions related to the possibility of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Russia and America in the field of fundamental space research, planets of the solar system,” Rogozin said.
The head of the Russian corporation also noted that he plans to show Nelson the enterprises and introduce him to his family. “I will do my best to establish a personal confidential dialogue with this experienced and respected person, Mr. Nelson. Therefore, I am waiting for him in my family, and I hope he will also come with his family and friends. We will try to show him that Russia, which he does not know. We will show the industry, eat at the enterprises, ”he said.
Earlier, Nelson called Russia a vital partner in the International Space Station and expressed hope for the continuation of Russian-American cooperation in the space field. He called the relations between the two states outstanding.
