Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos, proposed creating a special module at the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) for tourists to visit.
“I proposed to the project the creation of a separate module for visiting,” said Rogozin, commenting on the meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos.
Roscosmos will not engage in suborbital flights like the American billionaires. “This is more a matter of private companies,” he said.
Rogozin noted that Roskosmos will develop the direction of space tourism in terms of the development of a manned orbital program.
Earlier, kp.ru reported that Roskosmos will send space tourists to the ISS in 2021. In June, the Cosmonaut Training Center began preparations for the flight of the Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa and his assistant Yozo Hirano. They will go to the ISS in December this year, and will spend 12 days at the orbital station.
