The head of the state corporation “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin expressed hope for the release of his adviser, who was previously arrested on charges of high treason (article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Rogozin announced this on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station.
“He did not work with us for long, only a month and a half. Nevertheless, all the troubles he had appeared during his tenure as an advisor, ”the head of the corporation said, adding that the company is monitoring the progress of the case and is waiting for the investigation to draw the necessary conclusions.
Earlier it turned out that in the materials of the Safronov case, there is no mention of Roskosmos and the period of work in the corporation. According to Vedomosti, the adviser was charged in connection with his activities while working for the Kommersant newspaper.
Ivan Safronov was detained on July 7. According to the FSB, Safronov was recruited by Czech journalist Martin Larish. After that, in 2017, Safronov handed over secret information about “military-technical cooperation between Russia and African countries and the activities of the Russian Armed Forces in the Middle East” to Czech intelligence representatives.
