Moscow. September 15th. INTERFAX.RU – Methane engines currently being developed for a super-heavy lunar rocket will make it possible to reuse carrier stages, said Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Roscosmos state corporation.

“We hope to get them (engines – IF) by 2024-2025,” he told reporters.

Rogozin stressed that a super-heavy rocket will be much more expensive than a middle-class rocket.

“A super-heavy rocket will cost colossal money, the program itself will be extremely expensive. in order to introduce the latest technologies, “- said the head of Roskosmos.

Rogozin also said that work on the creation of the Yenisei super-heavy lunar rocket, the suspension of which was previously reported, has never stopped.

On February 10, the head of the Progress Rocket and Space Center, Dmitry Baranov, said that the development of the Yenisei rocket, which was created for the lunar program, had been suspended, and the designers were awaiting a decision to change its appearance.

On February 15, Rogozin announced that a new concept of the Yenisei super-heavy lunar rocket would be presented within three to four months.

Earlier it was planned to use the Yenisei super-heavy-class launch vehicle for these purposes, for which it is planned to build a separate launch complex at the Vostochny cosmodrome.

The creation of the first modules of the promising Russian super-heavy launch vehicle Yenisei began in Russia in the spring of 2020.
