Moscow. August 29. INTERFAX.RU – The United States may place nuclear weapons in space under the pretext of terraforming Mars, said the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
“Nuclear weapons can be launched into space not under the pretext of attacking the enemy, but under some very beautiful pretext, for example, terraforming Mars, or within the framework of asteroid-cometary safety,” Rogozin said in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
At the same time, he considers the possible placement of nuclear weapons in space a crime.
“I believe that it would be a crime. That is why (some criticize me for this) I began to object to Mr. Elon Musk when he proposed terraforming Mars using nuclear weapons,” the head of the state corporation said.
At the same time, Rogozin assured that Russia is ready to repel any attack, including from space.
