The individual competitions of the US Open Tennis will take place in the next two weeks without Austrian participation. Jurij Rodionov had to admit defeat to number four seeded Poland Kamil Majchrzak in two sets with 1: 6.2: 6 in the third and final qualifying round on Friday. The 22-year-old Lower Austrian has to wait for his second participation in a Grand Slam main competition after Paris 2020.

Austria's number three was the last ÖTV hopeful after defending champion Dominic Thiem was injured and young dad Dennis Novak was canceled. In the women's qualification, Julia Grabher and Barbara Haas were also the final destination.
