Beijing Roborock Technology was founded in 2014 and produces high-quality and functional robotic vacuum cleaners on the domestic market. The brand's products are very popular and are available both in Russian retail and on online platforms like Aliexpress. When buying, pay attention to which region a particular model was produced for. So, Roborock S7 can be found on Yandex.Market, but these devices are offered by unofficial suppliers. The official Russian version with Alice support was presented only recently and will soon be on sale.

Design
The model has a classic minimalist design: we had a version in white on the test, and there is also a version with a black case on sale.
The top cover is glossy, but surprisingly not easily soiled: dust and fingerprints are invisible on it. A lidar turret rises in the center, and a set of sensors for detecting obstacles and height differences along the perimeter of the vacuum cleaner. This model can be used even in houses with several floors: it will not fall off the stairs, as it can recognize the steps. And when cleaning a room, the vacuum cleaner will not collide with furniture, as less intelligent models do.
The vacuum cleaner is compact: the diameter is 35 cm, and the height is about 9 cm. The wheels are movable and easily recessed into the body, which allows the robot to easily overcome thresholds and obstacles like wires left on the floor. In addition, the wheels and brushes use the so-called Scratchsafe system – they are covered with soft plastic, which protects the floor from scratches. On the side there is a round brush for cleaning in the corners – also silicone and does not leave marks on furniture.
There are three buttons on the top panel: to return to the base, turn on / off and start cleaning. Above them, an LED is lit in a semicircle, the color of which changes depending on the mode: green – during standby, and blue – during operation.
If you open the lid, you can find a small Reset button to reset the Wi-Fi. A trash can with a HEPA filter is also hidden there. It is easy to pull out and put back.
The water container, which should be filled during wet cleaning, is located at the back of the vacuum cleaner and can be removed from the side – for this you need to press the red lever button, which protrudes slightly from the body. Also, for cleaning the floor, you must attach a nozzle with a soft cloth to the vacuum cleaner – it is included in the kit.
Control and functions
The vacuum cleaner can be controlled from anywhere in the world using the Mi Home app. First, you need to add a new device to it – it's very simple, just follow the prompts on the screen. The program will prompt you to enter a password for your Wi-Fi network, select a location for the base installation and come up with a name for the robot.
After the initial setup, through the application, it will be possible to start and stop the cleaning process, select the operating mode and even control the device using the joystick, directing it to a specific point on the map.
There are 4 programs for dry cleaning – they differ in power and noise level (from silent night mode to the most productive and loud). For wet cleaning, you can additionally set the wetting intensity of the rag by choosing one of 3 options or by completely turning off the water supply. Also in the application, you can draw different zones on the map, indicating to the robot which area to remove.
The layout of the room is created every time from scratch after the start of cleaning. In general, the map can be saved, but we don't see much sense in this – unless you never rearrange furniture and objects on the floor. During operation, the device divides the room into squares of different colors and even marks the recognized carpet on the map.
Mi Home can also be used to set up a cleaning schedule, lock the buttons of the vacuum cleaner from children, update the firmware and change the language. By default, the model for the Russian market speaks Russian – the robot voices all the actions it performs, whether it be resetting Wi-Fi or completing cleaning.
Cleaning
The Roborock S7 has a suction power of 2500 Pa, which is a very high figure. If you use the maximum mode, the garbage will have no chance. And for maintenance cleaning, when there is no old and stuck dust on the floor, you can safely choose medium or minimum power. Note that high performance often eliminates low noise levels. Therefore, even in the night mode, the vacuum cleaner rustles noticeably.
The most interesting thing is hidden at the bottom of the device – instead of a regular brush, it is equipped with a rubber roller with rigid ribs. The nozzle fits snugly on the floor during cleaning. Rotating, the roller collects all debris and dust into the tank, including due to static electricity – for example, animal hair adheres perfectly to rubber. This brush head is easy to clean, which makes it compare favorably with traditional brushes with plastic bristles.
The new type is great for cleaning smooth floors, but worse on carpets. Due to the flat design, the rubber shaft cannot “comb out” all the debris from the pile, but only collects the one that lies on the surface.
During wet cleaning, the new VibraRise technology is used: the nozzle-cloth makes up to 3000 sound vibrations per minute, which allows you to thoroughly wash even stubborn stains. In addition, the cloth is firmly attached to the floor (under 600 g pressure). As a result, the vacuum cleaner does not just “wipe the floor”, as many competitors do, but really wipes it with high quality and does not leave streaks.
The water in a 300 ml tank is enough for an average of 200 m² of floor cleaning. If, during wet cleaning, the robot drives onto the carpet, it will automatically recognize the type of coating and raise the area with a wet cloth by 5 mm so as not to damage the pile.
Autonomy
The model is equipped with a 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery. At minimum power, the vacuum cleaner will work for up to three hours. If the battery is discharged during the cleaning process, the robot will independently go to the base, and after charging it will return to the place where it stopped.
Should you buy the Roborock S7
The Roborock S7 is an excellent choice for cleaning smooth floors and floor cleaning. This is one of the best cleaning vacuum cleaners that can really scrub off stains and not just leave wet streaks behind. Also note the high suction power, thanks to which the robot easily copes with the removal of adhered dust and wool. The rubber brush collects debris well and is easy to clean, which will additionally save time on cleaning the vacuum cleaner.
The model will soon be on sale in the DNS network, and the exact price for the vacuum cleaner will be announced later. The unofficial version of the Roborock S7 on Yandex.Market costs 42,990 rubles. The cost is easily explained by the presence of lidar, advanced functions for wet cleaning and high suction power.
