California Gov. Newsom Denies Parole to Sirhan, who Assassinated Robert Kennedy in 1968

California Governor Gavin Newsom refused to grant a request for parole (PAROLE) for Jordanian Sirhan Sirhan, who in 1968 assassinated Senator Robert Kennedy, brother of the 35th US President John F. Kennedy. This was reported on the website of the state administration.
“After decades in prison, he (Sirkhan — Note of Lenta.ru ) has not been able to deal with the flaws that forced him to kill Senator Kennedy,” the document says.
Parole was recommended by a two-member panel in August 2021. Sirhan also received letters of support from Kennedy's two sons, Robert Jr. and Douglas. The widow of Robert Kennedy, Ethel, said that the convicted murderer of her husband does not deserve parole.
Robert Kennedy was shot dead in Los Angeles during the presidential campaign on June 6, 1968. Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian-Jordanian immigrant, was accused of his murder and was sentenced to death, later commuted to life imprisonment. He now claims he does not remember if he was really responsible for his death. He previously stated that he confessed to the murder under pressure, and asked for parole 15 times during his imprisonment, each time being refused.
