Riyadh will allow vaccinated pilgrims to visit holy places during Ramadan
Riyadh will allow pilgrims who were vaccinated against coronavirus infection to visit holy places during Ramadan, the Saudi Arabian Hajj Ministry said, Interfax reported.
Those wishing to obtain permission must be vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The document will be issued based on the status of “vaccinated” in a special attachment. This condition also applies to those who have been vaccinated after recovering from the coronavirus.
Those who want to apply for the Umrah – a small pilgrimage to Mecca, regular prayers or visiting sacred places, must register in specialized applications.
The authorities indicated that during Ramadan they will increase the possibility of receiving pilgrims at the Forbidden Mosque of Mecca – the main one in the Islamic world. At the same time, measures aimed at curbing the spread of infection will continue to operate there.
As a reminder, this year Ramadan falls on April 13th.
Earlier it was reported that 10 billion trees will be planted in Saudi Arabia to combat climate change.
