Riot-ridden Portland brought in the National Guard
The authorities of the American state of Oregon have decided to introduce national guard units into the city of Portland, which is raging with protests and unrest.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Twitter, National Guard forces have been deployed to assist local police in responding to violence, as well as to maintain order and ensure public safety.
The riots in Portland, which police declared riot, began after the presidential election on November 3. At least ten detainees are reported. A rifle, cartridges, homemade explosives and spray paint cans were seized from one of the rioters.
Note that protests after the elections began in other cities. For example, the New York police began to detain protesters, and opponents of the current US President Donald Trump began to gather near the White House. At the moment, however, the situation in Washington remains calm.
