Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov appealed to the Ukrainians – residents of villages and small towns – and urged, if possible, to detain or burn enemy columns with fuel for Russian armored vehicles.
The head of the Ministry of Defense published the corresponding appeal on his Facebook page.
– A special request to the residents of Ukrainian villages and small towns, as well as to everyone who has a suitable case. If a convoy of Russian armored vehicles passed by you, a convoy with fuel will follow after a while. Hold her or burn her. Russian tanks will simply stop, our troops will capture them and use them against the enemy,” Reznikov stressed.
The Minister recalled that Ukraine has been resisting the Russian aggressor for more than 55 hours.
“Our defenders and defenders completely destroyed the plans of the enemy. As of today, the number of destroyed Russian occupiers has exceeded 3,000 people. More than 200 interventionists were taken prisoner. The number of prisoners is increasing. They did not expect such a rebuff and surrender themselves. Hundreds of armored vehicles were destroyed, including more than a hundred Russian tanks. Yesterday, stingers (portable anti-aircraft missile systems Stinger, – Ed.) shot down 7 helicopters, – Reznikov said.
At the same time, he warned that the Russian invaders were trying to change tactics, shelling Ukrainian hospitals, residential areas and educational institutions. And since the blitzkrieg (fast offensive) did not work out in large columns, the Russian Federation began to more actively use landing forces and sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs).
So, in the cities of Ukraine there are enemy spotters who apply beacons and marks in order to direct fire at civilian infrastructure or show the way to Russian troops.
Reznikov noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces effectively neutralize enemy saboteurs.
At the same time, the minister urged Ukrainians to act proactively: to inform representatives of the terrorist defense about suspicious persons who mark or install beacons, or who are not able to explain the purpose of their stay in a particular place . Such persons, if possible, can be detained independently. They will become a source of useful information about the plans of the aggressor.
Separately, Aleksey Reznikov appealed to those persons who knowingly, for example, for financial reward, agreed to cooperate with the Russian aggressor.
– In two days, Russian monsters killed almost two hundred civilians, including three children. Another 33 children were injured. In such circumstances, you simply may not want or not have time to keep alive. Give up criminal intentions before it's too late,” Reznikov emphasized.
Earlier today, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, reported that as of this morning, more than 3,500 Russian soldiers who came to Ukraine with the war had been killed. About 200 more Russian invaders are now in captivity.
Mikhail Podolyak also stressed that over the past 24 hours, Russia has used all its military resources and reserves, but the Russian troops have not been able to gain a single operational and tactical advantage in Ukraine.
