The air strike that Russian troops launched today on the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security (Yavorovsky training ground) in the Lviv region is a terrorist attack near the borders of the European Union and NATO.
This was stated in his Twitter account by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
In this regard, he called on the world community to close the sky over Ukraine, that is, to establish a no-fly zone, which would prevent Russian missile attacks and airstrikes.
– Russia attacked the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in Lviv. Foreign instructors work here. Information about the victims is specified. This is a new terrorist attack on peace and security along the EU-NATO border. Action must be taken to stop this. Close the sky! Reznikov emphasized.
What is known about the attack on the Yavoriv range
An air strike by Russian invaders on the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security (Yavorovsky military training ground) in the Lviv region occurred on Sunday morning, March 13.
It was initially reported that the enemy fired 8 missiles. However, later the head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maxim Kozitsky, informed that, according to preliminary data, more than 30 missiles were fired. At the same time, the air defense system worked, and a certain number of missiles were shot down.
According to information released by the Lvov authorities, the planes took off from the Russian city of Saratov and carried out air-to-ground missile strikes.
As a result of the airstrike, 9 people were killed, another 57 were injured and were hospitalized. As Kozitsky clarified, not only the military are in the hospital, but the airstrike was directed specifically at military facilities.
The International Center for Peacekeeping and Security is located in the village of Starichi, Yavorovsky district, Lviv region.
