The new iPhone operating system will bring interactive widgets and always-on screen settings. This is reported by the PhoneArena edition.
Based on the disclosed data, the journalists of the publication suggested what functions the iOS 15 planned for 2021 will receive. The authors believe that one of the main features of the system will be the presence of interactive widgets with which users can interact: change the volume, adjust certain switches. Since the new iPhones are supposed to get the always-on-screen feature, a corresponding add-on will appear in iOS 15. It will drop the display refresh rate down to one hertz to reduce battery drain.
Also, journalists believe that the new OS will have new application settings. In 2020, Apple allowed third-party browsers and email clients to be installed as default programs. The authors believe that in the new operating system it will be possible to replace the native music listening application with Spotify or another third-party program.
Along with new functions, it is expected that the improvements previously introduced into the system are also expected. For example, experts are waiting for a small redesign of iOS 15, the appearance of more intuitive OS settings and an increase in user privacy.
The authors also suggested that the new iOS will be available on all current Apple smartphones, starting with the iPhone 7 series devices released in 2016. The OS will also appear on the seventh generation iPod touch. Older iPhone 6s and iPhone SE will not receive updates.
The announcement of the next operating system from Apple will take place at WWDC 2021 in June. The public version of iOS 15 should be available to iPhone and iPod touch users this fall.
