Alexander Blinov
The champion of the Moscow Olympics in equestrian sports in 1980, Alexander Blinov, died due to hypothermia. The reasons for his death in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets were revealed by his friend Alexander Evdokimov.
He noted that Blinov traveled from the village of Andreevskoye to Mozhaisk. He returned home by taxi, but the driver dropped the athlete 500 meters from the house, citing the fact that due to heavy snowfall the car would not go further. Already at that time, Blinov did not feel very well and did not reach the house about 150 meters, freezing to death.
As the newspaper notes, on the same evening a coach of an equestrian club drove past Blinov's house and noticed a man literally crawling across the road. The woman called an ambulance, but the team that came to the call did not find anyone there.
Blinov disappeared on 9 February. The next two days, representatives of the Russian Equestrian Sports Federation (FKSR) tried to get through to him, then his phone was discharged. The police started looking for the man. As a result, his body was found only on March 2 near the stables.
Blinov is the winner of the Moscow Olympiad in the team eventing, he also won silver in the individual competition. The athlete received the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.
