During the New Year holidays, it is necessary to adhere to a number of rules in order to protect yourself from cyber fraudsters, said Denis Kuvikov, director of the SafeNet regional engineering center of the National Technology Initiative, writes Vechernyaya Moskva.
You cannot share your data with anyone. Such information can be stored in the clouds and on hard drives connected to the network. We are talking about personal data, intimate photographs, passport number, passwords and financial information.
If you need to send information over the Internet, he advises to protect the files with a password. In addition, you need to install an antivirus. Such programs are constantly updated and “know” about new types of attacks and criminal schemes, the expert has revealed simple ways to secure his data.
Kuvikov advised Russians to come up with passwords from words that are easy to remember but difficult to guess. He recommends not installing third-party apps on your smartphone. The expert advises using mobile internet instead of public Wi-Fi.
Earlier it was reported that in early January, the most popular fraudulent scheme is the advertising of New Year, Christmas promotions and gifts on behalf of credit institutions.
