The cooperation between Russia and China, which has been strengthening in recent years, will affect the entire international community and will affect its main problems: from the war in Ukraine and the issue of ownership of Taiwan to the observance of human rights. Retired US Navy Admiral James Stavridis wrote about this in his column for Bloomberg.

In his opinion, Moscow and Beijing complement each other and can be serious rivals for Western countries. “From the perspective of the US and the West, their growing camaraderie is worrisome, especially if (Communist General Secretary of the Communist Party of China) Xi (Jinping) and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin step up policy coordination, share military bases, offer each other discretionary economic concessions, and exchange military technologies,” said Stavridis, describing the nature of the strengthening of relations between the parties.

Stavridis believes that as the two countries draw closer together, the West must collectively respond to the growing threat. The retired admiral advised starting with Ukraine, for which Russia allegedly poses a danger.

Earlier, the head of the Swedish intelligence agency SÄPO, Charlotte von Essen, said that Russia and China are the main threats to Sweden in space, which many see as an opportunity for intelligence activities and as a space for wars in the future. According to her, the conflict may begin with an attack on satellite navigation systems, which will become a serious problem for countries at the present time.
