President Vladimir Zelensky stressed that Ukraine and Belgium have begun new relationship page. This is important for the stability and security of all of Europe.
The head of state wrote about this on his page on the social network.
“Alexander, Mr. Prime Minister, I am grateful for the ambitious and meaningful security agreement between our states. Right now, when Russia is trying to expand and prolong the war, we need as many concrete steps as possible to bring peace closer. First: there is a clear record of the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine. We fixed in the agreement the number of F-16s that Ukraine will receive from Belgium. This is 30 cars. Second: this year we have recorded the level of financial support for our defense from Belgium – almost a billion euros,” emphasized Vladimir Zelensky.
In addition, the head of state thanked the Belgian government for its continued support of Ukrainian efforts and joint work with partners to join our state to the European Union and NATO.
“Today we discussed that this year Ukraine will receive 1 billion 700 million euros from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. I thank Belgium and Mr. Prime Minister Alexander De Croo personally for the fundamental support of the Global Peace Summit, which will begin June 15,” Zelensky emphasized.
Recall that Zelensky spoke emotionally about strikes against targets in the Russian Federation.
