Republican Representative David Andal, who passed away from the coronavirus, won the elections to the North Dakota state legislature. On Wednesday, November 4, The Independent reports.

According to the newspaper, the 55-year-old politician was hospitalized with a new infection in early October. He spent four days in the hospital and died on October 5.

However, early voting began a few weeks before the Republican's death. As a result, he, along with another of his fellow party members Dave Naring, was able to win and be selected for the local legislature from the eighth district. As noted by The Independent, the politician won 38 percent of the vote.

Now the Republican Party will have to find a politician to replace Andal. At the same time, it is possible that for this the state will have to hold early elections.

General Election Day was held in the United States on November 3. Citizens elected a president and vice president, 35 senators, the entire House of Representatives, 13 governors and local government representatives. The current head of state, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, who served as vice president under Barack Obama, fought for the top post.
