Austria's running aces presented themselves in brilliant form at the Vienna Marathon over the half-distance. There were home wins for women and men.
Andreas Stöckl and Eva Wutti secured victory in the Vienna City Marathon over 21.1 kilometers. Wutti needed 1:16:14 hours, Stöckl mastered the route at around 20 degrees in 1:12:07 hours.
“The finish was very emotional, indescribable,” said the Salzburg man happily. “But I was expecting a better time. It was a bit warm. But that shouldn't be an excuse. Maybe I started too quickly.”
