A UK resident who has recovered from COVID-19 spoke about the rare frightening symptoms she experienced while fighting the infection. Her words are quoted by the Daily Star.
Felicity Collinson, 39, said she was diagnosed with the coronavirus on Christmas Day, December 24. The woman hoped that she would be able to easily endure the disease due to her good physical shape and young age, but in reality her condition has seriously worsened.
In addition to common symptoms such as fever, cough and headaches, the British woman is faced with much rarer manifestations of the coronavirus. She experienced dizziness, nausea, trembling, and severe eye pain. In addition, Collinson's neck was swollen, which she said was intimidating.
“The glands under my jaw were swollen like Frankenstein's. It looked like I had half an apple under my neck. The lips are dry and scaly. The eyes are bloodshot, ”the woman described her symptoms.
According to her, she felt worst of all on the eighth day after the diagnosis. The woman's condition began to improve only on the tenth day of the disease.
In December, doctors in the United States discovered a new rare but dangerous symptom of the coronavirus, which was observed in several patients with COVID-19 in New York. For two months, doctors in New York recorded three cases when patients infected with coronavirus developed such a symptom as keratitis – inflammation of the cornea. In the future, the infection in all three spread to the inner membranes of the eyeball, causing endophthalmitis.
