The Georgia recount of the votes cast in the US presidential election confirmed the victory of the US Democratic candidate in the election of the head of state, Joe Biden. This is reported by TASS with reference to the message of Vice Governor Brad Raffensperger.

More than five million ballots were reprocessed in all 159 counties in the state. Republican Donald Trump got 2,462,857 votes, Biden – 2,475,141.

Earlier, Joe Biden revealed plans for a lawsuit against the administration of incumbent leader Donald Trump, which does not recognize the Democrat as elected president. “We're not ruling that out,” Biden replied when asked if he really did not rule out a lawsuit against the administration and the General Services Administration (GSA), which should give the green light to the official transfer of power.

Presidential elections were held in the United States on November 3. The counting of votes and the proceedings on this issue are still ongoing. According to the media, the candidate from the Democratic Party of the United States, Joe Biden, received the necessary number of electoral votes to win, thus beating Trump. He has already proclaimed himself US President-elect.

Trump, in turn, said that Biden was quick to call himself the country's new leader. He pointed out that the elections are not officially over yet, and the results will be appealed in court.
