Against the background of threats of increased Russian aggression, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies must demonstrate confidence in order to prevent panic among Ukrainians.
This was stated on the air of Freedom of Speech on the ICTV channel by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, answering the question whether the Ministry of Internal Affairs has a plan on how to prevent panic among the population.
According to the Interior Minister, a similar plan is already being implemented.
– First of all, the confidence and activity, in particular, of law enforcement agencies. The self-confidence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allows everyone else to be calm, Monastyrsky said.
He added that any active actions of the aggressor will receive a response from law enforcement agencies and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the minister assured that Ukraine has developed a plan for the safe evacuation of the civilian population, if necessary. At the same time, Monastyrsky called on citizens to join the ranks of territorial defense, as this allows them to protect their settlements.
– As for the evacuation, I can say that such plans exist on paper. But first of all, I would call for healthy training and entry into the ranks of the territorial defense. Here is the correct answer to any existing one. threat. Because territorial defense allows each region to be the basis for the protection of any city, village, town, street, house, if necessary. And this is what, in my opinion, gives many people the confidence that there will be no capture scenario, – Monastyrsky emphasized.
The minister recalled that an enhanced work regime for border guards and police officers is being introduced in Ukraine (until February 19).
“And this is also one of the symbols of the fact that we are ready for any scenarios in our situation,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs assured.
