Long-term immunity after Sputnik V vaccination appears in more than 90 percent of patients. This was announced in an interview with TASS by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, citing data from the Argentine National Scientific and Technical Research Council, published in the newspaper La Nacion.

According to these data, after vaccination with Sputnik V, the so-called T-cell (lymphocytic) immunity is formed. “This testifies to the long-term nature of the protection against COVID-19,” the RDIF said.

The Scientific and Technical Research Council also said that the lymphocytes, which remain after vaccination and “remember” the coronavirus, remain in the body for a long time. According to the Minister of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, Daniel Gollan, upon subsequent encounter with the virus, they will quickly develop antibodies and “killer cells” that will destroy the virus.

Earlier, the scientific journal Nature confirmed that the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus gives one hundred percent protection against the severe form of COVID-19 and is 91.6 percent effective in preventing COVID-19.
