The German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig can hope for a rain of 21 million euros. As it became known on Tuesday, the world association (FIFA) decided in the first instance a legal dispute between the Saxons and Leeds United in favor of RB. It is about whether the striker Jean-Kevin Augustin, who was once loaned to Leeds from Leipzig, should have been signed by the English or not.
In the loan agreement, the then English second division team had committed in 2020 to sign Augustin for a transfer fee of 21 million euros in the event of promotion. Leeds rose, but only in July 2020 because of the pandemic conditions. In the opinion of the English, the purchase obligation expired at the end of June. That doubted RB and complained. The judgment is not yet final; Leeds can still take action.
