During non-working days, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) will transfer 30% of employees in Moscow and the Moscow region to a remote mode of operation, TASS reports with reference to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev.

“RAS is transferring 30% of its employees to remote work in the period from October 28 to November 7. It should be noted that we have a high level of vaccination at the Academy of Sciences, ”he told the agency.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova proposed to introduce non-working days in Russia from October 30 to November 7 on October 19 at a meeting of the coordinating council to combat the spread of coronavirus infection. According to her, this is due to the deterioration of the situation with COVID-19, and in some regions where the situation is especially tense, it is possible to declare non-working days from October 23.

Golikova's proposal was supported by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and instructed her to report on initiatives to combat coronavirus to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state also approved this decision and signed a corresponding decree.

At the same time, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, signed a decree according to which, against the background of an increase in morbidity in Moscow, a temporary lockdown was introduced from October 28 to November 7. At this time, all the capital's cinemas, gyms, zoos, solariums, baths, hairdressers and shopping centers will be closed. Pharmacies, stores selling essential goods and dentistry will not be closed, but the latter will be able to serve patients in case of emergency. The authorities ordered the blocking of social cards for residents of Moscow over the age of 60. If an elderly person is vaccinated, the card will be unblocked.
