On Tuesday, Vienna's mayor Michael Ludwig announced that the 2G rule will apply to visits to the stadium from October 1st.
At events with more than 500 visitors, only those who have been vaccinated or who have recovered will be allowed access. This measure initially applies to the entire month. This affects the two Viennese Bundesliga clubs Rapid and Austria, as well as the ice hockey club spusu Vienna Capitals and the tennis tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle.
The ordinance, which came into force on October 1, caused displeasure among green and white football fans after it was announced. Block West announced a boycott of the mood. The fans would stay away from the stadium if – apart from a 3G rule – further tightening were enforced.
The Rapid fans underlined this also during the guest appearance at Admira in the second round of the ÖFB Cup, “2G for the stadium. This is where the vaccinated opens up”, read a banner in the away sector.
In any case, there was still no talk of a boycott of the mood. The green and white appendix could be heard loudly throughout the game. That could change as of October 1st …
