TrendForce analysts said that prices for RAM for computers could rise by almost a third in the second quarter of 2021, that is, by the summer.
Experts predict an 18-23% rise in price. In the consumer segment, price increases may reach 28%. This will happen due to high seasonal demand as well as a global semiconductor shortage.
Now memory suppliers and manufacturers of computers and laptops are negotiating contract prices for the next period. Although the negotiations have not been completed, experts expect a rise in price. The cost of the DDR4-2666 module has already increased by about 25% when compared to the previous quarter.
The media clarify that specialized DDR3 / DDR4, mobile, graphics and server modules may also rise in price.
