After the 17th stage of the Tour de France, a hobby cyclist fell. However, he was rescued by prominent helpers.

The former tour winner Christopher Fromme, together with the former Belgian world champion Philippe Gilbert and the Dane Christopher Juul-Jensen, tackled the descent from Col du Portet to the team bus on Wednesday after the end of the stage.

The trio experienced a serious fall. “I rode behind a hobby cyclist who paid taxes on a bend and fell 20 meters,” Gilbert told the Belgian TV broadcaster “RTBF”.

The trio had immediately interrupted their departure and rushed to help. “It took 20 minutes to be able to help this man. We then called for additional help, the man was quite upset,” continued Gilbert. Nothing is known about the state of health of the fallen driver.

In terms of sport, Froome hardly made headlines recently. In the current Tour de France, the former winner in the service of the Israel Start-Up Nation team is already four hours behind the leader Tadej Pogacar.
