The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the spread of fakes by Russia about the so-called “Ukrainian biological weapons” made with the assistance of the United States.
The Ukrainian diplomatic department noted that Russia again accused Ukraine of manufacturing biological weapons after the diplomatic defeat in Geneva following the results of the Official Consultative Meeting of the BTWC member states. Thus, propagandists want to “rehabilitate themselves in Moscow and wishful thinking.”
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mykola Tochitsky announced this on Facebook.
“Another Russian false narratives about the creation by Ukraine U.S.-assisted bioweapons announced today by the notorious Russian Deputy Foreign Minister S. Ryabkov are a continuation of the Kremlin’s disinformation efforts to desperately justify Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine, diverting attention from numerous of our state, and hiding their own activities in circumvention of the provisions of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons (BTWC),” the message says.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the meeting, which adopted the participation of 89 delegations of the CBTC member states, was unequivocally convinced of the fabricated nature of the Russian accusations, the gross abuse of the provisions of the Convention by the terrorist country, the real manipulative goal of Russian fakes about bioweapons in Ukraine.Moreover, he noted that the Russian delegation at the meeting behaved aggressively.
“The factual report on the results of the Consultative Meeting of the Russian delegation failed in no way to “stretch out” its painful insinuations on bioweapons in Ukraine. Initiated by Russia, in accordance with Article V of the Convention, the process has been completed. It has been completed, no matter how much S. Ryabkova and some Russian satellites incited by him would like it.
