Queen Margrethe II of Denmark has tested positive for COVID-19, the press service of the royal court announced on the official website.

The press service said that the disease is mild, and now the queen is in the palace of Christian IX in Amalienborg on self-isolation and follows all the recommendations of the national Ministry of Health for treatment.

On January 4, it became known that the Swedish royal family had contracted the coronavirus after receiving three doses of the vaccine. The King and Queen of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf and Silvia, learned about this when they received their test results for COVID-19. According to the royal environment, the disease proceeded in a mild form.

Earlier it was reported that the Danish authorities lifted a number of restrictions previously introduced in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection.
