The spouse of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, 99-year-old Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was transferred to another hospital. This is reported by The Telegraph with reference to Buckingham Palace.
Philip was transferred from King Edward VII Hospital to St Bartholomew's Hospital, also located in London. The palace explained to the publication that the hospital will continue to treat him for infection, but they will also check his heart in connection with a previously diagnosed disease.
The palace said in a statement that the duke will remain in hospital until at least the end of this week.
The prince's hospitalization became known in mid-February. According to the BBC, he was sent to hospital on the recommendation of his attending physician as a precautionary measure. It was assumed that under supervision he would stay for several days. Later, at Buckingham Palace, they confirmed the information about Philip's hospitalization, explaining that the day before he felt bad.
In January, Philip and Elizabeth II were vaccinated against the coronavirus.
In 2011, Prince Philip underwent heart surgery. She was required due to blockage of the coronary artery. The surgeons solved the problem with stenting.
