Pyongyang and Seoul conducted missile tests on Wednesday. South Korea launched missiles from a submarine just two hours after two ballistic missiles were launched by North Korea, which had tested a new cruise missile two days earlier. Experts believe that Pyongyang is thus seeking to put pressure on the United States in order to resume negotiations on its nuclear program.
