The annual press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin has begun in Moscow. It is broadcasted by the Russia 24 TV channel on YouTube.
The event is held in face-to-face format. The Moscow Manezh was chosen as the venue for the annual conference. Press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov noted that media representatives will be able to freely ask questions to Putin as usual.
Foreign media agents also participate in the event. Their status does not affect the work, the Kremlin official said. In 2021, more than 500 representatives of Russian and foreign media will attend the press conference.
In 2020, Vladimir Putin's annual press conference was held via video link due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was partially combined with a straight line. The head of state was at his residence in Novo-Ogarevo, while journalists and photographers were in the hall of the World Trade Center in Moscow. The event lasted 4 hours and 29 minutes. Then the Russian leader answered 60 questions.
