Putin will not be allowed to “eat” Ukraine: Scholz made a loud statement

The German Chancellor assured that support for Ukraine from allies will not disappear.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during a “civil dialogue” in the city of Schwerin, assured that Ukraine will receive a loan of 50 billion dollars at the expense of frozen Russian assets. He also stated that support for Ukraine from its allies will not weaken.

This is reported by Ukrinform.

According to Scholz, the $50 billion loan is a “completely conscious promise of stability for Ukraine,” which will provide it with the necessary support in the near future.

“This is also a message to the Russian president that he cannot expect that at some point support for Ukraine will disappear and he will be able to “eat” the entire country,” the Federal Chancellor emphasized.

At the same time, German government spokesman Steffen Gebestreit commented on rumors about Scholz's alleged intentions to call Putin. According to him, the Chancellor will do this when it makes sense.

“The Chancellor has repeatedly said that he would do it again if it made sense,” Gebestreit said.

He added that the last conversation between Scholz and Putin took place in December 2022, noting that “the situation could change quickly.”

Recall that the day before, Die Zeit reported that Scholz plans to call Putin after almost two years of silence. The phone call is allegedly scheduled for November and will precede the G20 summit in Brazil.
