Russia has a labor shortage. Overall, there is a shortage of more than 5 million people, and 400 thousand in the defense industry. This could cause serious problems for the aggressor country in 2025.

Olga Romanova, chairperson of the “Sidyashchaya Rus” charity foundation, told Channel 24 about this, noting that there is no one to fill the labor shortage in Russia. She added that at one time this could be done by attracting migrants, but now there are fewer of them. This is due to the fact that no one wants to get Russian passports, because with them people are immediately sent to war in Ukraine.

Problems in Russia

Olga Romanova emphasized that the problems with the labor shortage in the defense industry are related to the fact that, according to Russian rules, only people of Slavic origin are hired there. Tajiks and representatives of other national minorities are recruited for less responsible work. They work mainly as taxi drivers or cleaners.

But now the flow of migrant workers has almost stopped, because people go for citizenship, but as soon as they receive it, they go to war. Therefore, this problem cannot be solved in any way, she said.

The head of the charity foundation noted that 2024 will be the last relatively successful year for the Russian economy.

Federal judges in Russia have begun to be paid less. The authorities have cut their bonuses by 50%.

And this is suicide, because judges are the basis of Putin's power, because they protect the Kremlin regime. If their well-being and loyalty are sacrificed, then in 2025 Putin will face inevitable inflation, labor shortages, and Russia's complete isolation, Romanova noted.

She also stressed that sanctions against the aggressor country are working slowly, but they still have a serious impact on the overall situation.

By the way, EU ambassadors have agreed on the 15th package of sanctions against Russia, aimed at increasing pressure due to its war in Ukraine. The package expands the list of individuals, companies, and organizations subject to restrictions, and also provides for measures against the Russian “shadow fleet” and firms circumventing export restrictions.
